“Two different groups, just one common aim: letting their feelings spread the wings and fly, lead by the music they love. Nine catchy songs that will make you think, cry, dance and sing!”
Biography
THE 7 JAY
The band started playing in January 02, exactly the 7 jay nuary! The historical formation was with Silvio(voice), Maku(guitar), Faz(bass), Fede(drums)…but then things have changed into another way and, when Silvio let the group, Maku started to sing. The trio found his way listening to groups like theAtaris, New Found Glory, Simple Plan, Rufio, Punchline and all the west-coast scene of the United States. They start to work with commitment and the work immediately put the guys up on a lot of stages! Their first Demo cd in 02 is called “just have fun” ‘n’ it shows a lot of good possibilities but a sound that in someway doesn’t satisfy the band completely! In summer 03 Drew (guitar) started to play with the guy and with this new element brings more melody and precision in the mood of the Jays.In December 03 the group started to work once again to create their first Ep, and this time the sound and their choices were quite better:this brought to life “Portrait…of reality”, a 4-songs mini-cd printed in 700 copies and almost sold out in Italy.Obviously the shows quickly grew up and they played with groups like Forty Winks, the Nerd Follia, Vanilla Sky, Melt, No*One, Andy’s donuts, Absinthe Glow (USA) and a lot of other bands of the Italian scene, having also a three-gigs tour in Switzerland. As they needed to find a new way to express, they wrote more than twelve songs in less than four months and their latest work was recorded March 05, at the Jungle Sound Studios, in Milan and this period of intense work gave birth to “Flying towards sunsets”: it contains 5 brand new songs that really make the audience understand the feelings they have about music and way of life; this EP started being promoted in Italy in the end of march and since then, they have played about 20 gigs in less than three months (even supporting bands like Engine Down, Tribute to Nothing and Madbones), being played in 6 national and local radio stations, 2 american stations, having interviews in radio networks and magazines.
KISS ME EMILY
The band was born in the early 2003, the original band consisted of Nicola R. (vocals and lead guitar), Nicola M.(bass and backing vocals), Carlo V.(drums) and Matteo S. (guitar and backing vocals). They recorded a single-track for a compilation (La Tana) sponsored by the town of Forlì, but as Matteo left right after the recording, there came the third Nicola (Nicola O.) with whom the K.M.E. faced their first live show. Thanks to the new guitarist and the great performance, the result was definitely positive and gave the band new hopes. From now onwards many proposals for concerts in different clubs of the area crossed their came out. After some small concerts, the K.M.E. started to play on major stages with more and more famous alternative bands. In 2004 the band recorded its first demo of four tracks with pure emo influences and even if it has been appreciated by the critics it has not lead the band to the outcome of any album. At the beginning of 2005 the K.M.E. finally record their first mini-album of four tracks and here comes the success not only from the reviews but also from Indelirium Records that will produce a split-record of the Kiss Me Emily together with the 7Jay from Milan.
