GOTANERVE/TRUESIDEMUSIC (Marcs77)
Convincingly 6 tracks debut MCD, out now through Indelirium records, for this up and coming fivesome hailing outta centre of Italy. WHILE YOU WAIT started out last year (band s line up includes Fabio (also member of Rise From Agony) on vocals, Edoardo on bass, guitar players Emiliano and Andrea and Alex on drums (Jet Market"s member), and after tons of hours spent rehearsing, what they did end up to? Well, the guys felt ready and even more determined then ever to get their sound out to the masses. These six slabs of modern passionate hardcore included in A LIFE FOR A LIFE (the closing track is an instrumental outro) reminds me quite of the likes of Another Breath (an awesome band I love), Give Up The Ghost (If you haven"t yet, you must check out their "Background music" dated "03), The Suicide File and sound frantic and tight leaving you staring dumbstruck at the sheer visceral anger and naked emotion pouring from every note, beat and scream. My favourite tracks are the fast opening "This is my sun", Dead Culture the latter being a solid piece that mixes fast parts, some heavy breakdowns and gang/background vocals with gusto, and the short but with some solid riffing "Watching the world die. Definitely a band to look out for. This one fits among the best "hardcore" records I"ve heard lately and I hope to hear more from WHILE YOU WAIT in the near future.

Ecco a voi amanti dell hardcore tricolore con un orecchio rivolto all"estero un gruppo all"esordio da tenere assolutamente d occhio. I While You Wait sono cinque ragazzi sparsi tra l Abruzzo - in prevalenza - ed il Lazio, reduci da varie esperienze musicali e nell"ambito del diy, che hanno unito le forze proponendo, con l"ausilio dell"attiva Indelirium Records, un primo mini cd in cui suoni di stampo old school si fondono con forti accenti melodici, senza che però questo ammorbidisca troppo il risultato finale, grazie ad una prova vocale aggressiva come di rado accade. Per intenderci, immaginate un incrocio tra American Nightmare, Comeback Kid, Grade, qualcosa di più melodico come gli Endstand e certi rimandi all\'aggressività dei Raised Fist ed avrete una buona idea di come suonano i While You Wait. Addentrandoci nelle singole tracce, il gruppo parte subito forte con "This is my sun", che personalmente ho trovato il pezzo migliore del mcd grazie alle armonizzazioni di chitarra ben in evidenza nonostante la velocità generale del pezzo ed alla voce del cantante Fabio, il cui screaming potente riporta alla mente la voce dei già citati Endstand e riesce, pur nella sua monoliticità, ad essere sorprendentemente trascinante. La breve "Self/consumed" lascia presto spazio alla title track "A life for a life", questa volta più lenta ma ancora con le melodie sugli scudi ed un finale in crescendo. Il trademark del gruppo si ripropone ancora nella breve "Watching a world die", mentre "Dead culture" tenta con buoni risultati una strada più aggressiva ma anche più ritmicamente dinamica. La conclusiva "Wait a while" rappresenta, infine, una sorta di outro che chiude in maniera pacata un ep di breve durata, ma che potrebbe faticare molto ad uscire fuori dai lettori di chi si ciba di queste sonorità. Sarebbe ingiusto, infine, tralasciare il lavoro si produzione di questo "A life for a life": i suoni, a cura degli studi Acme ed Hell Smell sono potenti ma non troppo "patinati", anzi ben si adattano al mood oscuro dei pezzi; ottimo anche il packaging, sia graficamente che nei materiali, il che, in un momento di scarse vendite di cd, ha indubbiamente il suo valore. In definitiva, il consiglio a chi dovesse trovarsi davanti questo cd è di comprarlo a scatola chiusa. Per il resto aspettiamo con impazienza un full lenght da parte dei While You Wait: con premesse del genere la speranza di trovarsi di fronte a qualcosa di ancora migliore è più che fondata.

While You Wait is a new band from Italy that started out in February of 2007 and features current or ex members of well known local bands like The Difference, Rise From The Agony and Jet Market. Some days ago I got their new MCD that is a cute digipack one including a fantastic artwork & packaging and 6 songs counting no more than 8 minutes...! But, oh shit, those 8 minutes are fucking enough to get in love with the While You Wait music... 8 minutes of ultra melodic emotional hardcore with references in Turning Point, Another Breath, Husker Du, Samiam and of course The Difference. Desperate lyrics & desperate vocals along with catchy guitar riffs and unstoppable drumming by 5 guys that know exactly how to fucking rock. Go get this piece of plastic & paper, it deserves your bucks. This is Italian hardcore 2008.
SOULCRAFT08 (Domenico)
Straight outta Italy, and featuring past and current members of an endless list of bands, While You Wait is a pretty young band. Born in 2007 from an idea of the man behind Indelirium Records, the band started working really hard writing tunes to put out their debut release. Finally, after a demo used to spread their name, here’s their debut MCD "A Life For A Life". The record features 6 songs in which you can hear some strong influences from band ranging from American Nightmare to From Ashes Rise, going through Go It Alone and Grade. Vocals are damn harsh and the quality of the recording definately played a nice trick. Overall, if you’re into the latest breed of hardcore, melting melody and aggression, this is definately a band you have to check out!
