"Riding a cannibal horse from here to..." is the first full length for this Roman outfit.
The recording (and the mix either) process has been done by Steve Austin (that besides being Today is the Day singer, has previously worked with big names such as Unsane, Converge and Lamb of God) @ Austing Enterprise of Clinton, MA.
T.O.M.T are a good mix of metalcore, surf and garage rock. According to me, the stronghold of this band is the particular ability to play surf rock riffs mixed to metallic guitar tunes. That makes the band\'s sound kinda refreshing and original.
The screamed vocals supplied by singer\'s Gianny surely stand out the package, even though the melodic parts represent the true weakness of these songs. The track that best express T.O.M.T. sound is the third one "Vampires in the Sun", with a freaky surf riff that gets interrupted by a sudden slow downed tempo and a screamed voice that goes like..."My Lover, I cannot find you!"
I\'ve been told these guys manage to set up an exciting live show. I\'m looking forward to check them out at a live gig soon then!

That’s quite a cranky sound these Italians (I never have heard anything of before) got mixed together by Steve Austin, in his capacity as psychopathic head behind likewise psychopathic Today Is The Day. Hardcore meets Noiserock a la Amphetamine Reptile, meets some stoner rock, tricky stuff and some rare Emo passages, without sounding like typical Metalcore monotony. One might think to deal with sort of a commercial Today Is The Day version, but that would a bit of a stretch.
THE ORANGE MAN THEORY sounds fresh, varied, always surprising, cold-shouldering stamped down Metalcore trends but breathing some fresh air into. That’s not only due to the versatile singing but also because of ambitious songwriting that always and absolutely precise passes the “too much” border and make the most of this genre. Bands to refer to: Today Is The Day, Unsane, Dillinger Escape Plan, Relapse- and Hydrahead noise.
It’s clear: that’s nothing whimps should listen to and people that easily gets stressed. 8.5 points!

Premetto che di hardcore non capisco una mazza, ma i romani Orange Man Theory mi hanno favorevolmente entusiasmato, grazie ad una musica diretta e violenta come non ne sentivo da un pò di mesi a questa parte. Definire la loro musica hardcore in senso stretto mi sembra eccessivamente riduttivo, dato che molti elementi crossover, garage e metalcore fanno capolino nelle trame ritmiche create dalla band.
Rilevante alla fine dell\'ascolto è sapere che la produzione è a cura di Steve Austin (Today Is The Day) e che l\'album è stato registrato negli States presso gli Austin Enterprise Recording And Mastering del Massachusetts. Nove tracce (inclusi intro, outro, etc etc...) di musica tirata e potente, con dei testi molto interessanti, a volte anche grotteschi ("007 ce fa na pippa" penso sia esplicativo). Una proposta che potrà accontentare più ascoltatori, dai fan di Converge, Poison the Well, a quelli dei System of a Down.
Una band promettente che conferma ancora una volta il buono stato di salute dell\'underground italico, una band che si è fatta apprezzare nel mondo e che a breve partirà con un tour in Europa. I miei più sinceri complimenti ai ragazzi !

I The Orange Man Theory sono un\'autentica bastonata in pieno volto. Provate ad immaginare un punto di malata convergenza tra la fangosità quasi sludge degli Unsane e gli assalti all\'arma bianca di scuola Converge. Ed immaginate di trovarvi in quel punto proprio nell\'esatto momento in cui questi quattro romani passano per far danni. Si, stiamo parlando di una band tricolore e di questo ne andiamo fieri. Registrato negli Stati Uniti (precisamente a Clinton, nel Massachussets, come ci suggerisce l\'intero titolo della title-track) presso il personale studio di Steve Austin, mastermind dei pericolosi Today Is The Day (qui anche in veste di singer nella finale “007 Ce Fa \'Na Pippa”), “Riding A Cannibal Horse From Here To…” è una vera mattanza sonora che non perde mai occasione di mandare in fiamme le casse dello stereo. Un suono polimorfico, leggibile attraverso livelli stilistici differenti, pervaso anche da una certa vena ironica (e titoli come la citata “007 Ce Fa ‘Na Pippa” e “Merendina Will Have His Revenge On Capeside”, facendo qui il versaccio ai Nirvana, non spuntano per caso), i The Orange Man Theory non si risparmiano quando c\'è da picchiare come dei fabbri. L\'iracondia soffocante e depressa dei Converge deflagra letteralmente tra le urla di “Merendina Will Have...” e “Biollante\'s Dawn”, mentre melodie sardoniche si miscelano ad esplosioni malate in “Where We\'re Going We Don\'t Need Roads!”. Il riffing è perennemente obliquo, nevrastenico e digrigna senza tregua seminando sprazzi di bizzarria come l\'intermezzo in blues scarnificato di “The Way To Rock”. La sezione ritmica è solidissima e si catapulta in dense trame caotiche, mentre Gianni, il singer di questa banda di squilibrati, evita di limitarsi al mero scorticamento delle sue corde vocali, producendosi in aperture melodiche dall\'attitudine a metà tra l\'emo-core e l\'indie-punk. Con “Riding A Cannibal Horse From Here To...” questi quattro romani lanciano il guanto di sfida alle tante valide combriccole estere dedite allo stupro di apparati uditivi per mezzo di falli borchiati di post-core. A noi non resta che tifare per loro.

Together since the winter of 2003, The Orange Man Theory are four dudes from Italy going to the US to record an album at Indelirium Records. But not just any album. Yes, their new lp is produced by Steve Austin of Today Is The Day who also features on keyboards (track 6) and vocals on track 9. They`re an energic young band that mixes hardcore with screamo and metalcore, melodic but heavy riffs and harsh, screaming vocals that sometimes even go clean, a gig to check out in the future. The artwork is excellent, done with style and a good vision that very well expresses the sound of the album itself.

Nawet dziwaczny tytul albumu przynosi na mysl dziwne skojarzenia z… CANNIBAL CORPSE, hahaha… Ale zapewniam was, ze z death metalem tutaj sie nie spotkacie. Chociaz muzyka THE ORANGE MAN THEORY jest tez bardzo agresywna, rzeklbym wrecz miazdzaca i dodatkowo totalnie szalona z mocno psychodelicznym tchnieniem. Podstawe utworów tworza ciezkie i ostre furiackie riffy, mocny histeryczny wrzask i nabijajaca szybkie tempo perkusja. Przerywnikami tej szalonej jazdy sa jakby filmowe motywy - muzyczne lub dialogowe - oraz dziwne zmiksowane wrzaski i sample, czy tez spokojniejsze punkowo-grunge\'owe aranzacje, lub tematy w stylu THE SEX PISTOLS, NIRVANY, TOOL\'a czy EYEHATEGOD. TEORIA POMARANCZOWEGO LUDZIKA jest totalnym szalenstwem!!!

Prodotti da Steve Austin dei Today Is The Day (che nell\'album lo si ritrova anche in qualche parte vocale e nei Synth) gli italianissimi The Orange Man Theory fanno il loro debutto su Indelirium Records. La musica dei quattro è un folle mix tra hardcore bello potente e un indie-surf-rock, è la prima volta che sentite roba del genere? bhè anche io e questa trovata mi piace parecchio. Gli Orange Man Theory con questo personalissimo sound si distanziano anni luce dai migliaia gruppi metalcore "tutti uguali" che sbucano ultimamente e non sicuramente niente da invidiare ai gruppi oltreoceano. I temi delle loro liriche sono piccoli e macabri scenari di horror splatter. Detto ciò c\'è poco dire. Assolutamenet geniali e consigliati agli amanti del death metal, del metalcore, dell\'hardcore, del grind ma anche a chi ama indie, garage, surf ed il buon vecchio rock n\' roll ;-)

Normally the screechy vocal thing is an immediate stop sign for me. So it says something significant that despite those type being predominant here, I’m absolutely enjoying this disc. One of the best things is that it’s solidly unique, by no means average joe, pissed off, screamo with hardcore pretensions, hybrid heavy stuff. Oh they are definitely pissed off (production and guest vocals on one song by Steve Austin of Today is the Day should be a tip off to that factor) but their blend of metallic guitar sound with almost surf structured riffing and an alternately melodic, rocking and chaotic song structure isn’t reminiscent of any one particular band. If Dick Dale was jamming with Warrior Soul on an east bound train that had a high speed head on collision with a west bound train containing Today is the Day jamming with Drowning Man the wreckage might come out something like this.
Energy and anger don’t offer much respite, they just take an occasional step back to survey the damage, sneering while preparing a fresh assault. There aren’t really any standout tracks, but don’t take that as a negative factor; it’s more like this stands as one complete half hour sonic assault, just broken into nine segments. It all has that sort of hard to define or catch in words good quality that allows them to even use what I believe are samples from “Back to the Future” and make it sound like a good thing. A good soundtrack for a bad day.

Anche i cavalli diventano cannibali L’hardcore di questa band romana è sicuramente striato di atmosfere cupe, ma anche l’approccio che parte dall’hc suona già dal primo brano, nuovo alle orecchie del pubblico italiano. Sarà la mano di Steve Austin dei Today Is The Day, a rimescolare le carte in tavola con la sua ottima produzione, ma questi Orange Man Theory ci sanno proprio fare. Pezzi come “Vortex of cows into the sweet tornado” o “Merendina will have his revenge on capeside” (Merendina è il batterista n.d.r.) vengono magicamente avvolti da elementi mistici e psichedelici che si tramutano nella devastante onda sonora della title-track o nella schizofrenia pura dei riff di “007 (ce fa na pippa)”, dove è lo stesso Steve Austin a prestare la voce. “Riding a cannibal horse from here to…” è un disco che segna un passo avanti rispetto alle scelte canoniche delle band hardcore del nostro paese, allargando gli orizzonti ed offrendo un prodotto molto curato contenente una traccia cd-rom che include foto e video.

"Riding a cannibal horse from here to..." è il titolo del full length di debutto ufficiale dei The Orange Man Theory, uscito nel dicembre 2005 per l\'Indie label italiana Indelirium Records (Aquila). L\'album è stato prodotto da Steve Austin (Converge, Unsane, Lamb Of God), registrato negli USA presso "Austin Enterprise Recording" ed infine masterizzato in Clinton (MA - USA). Questo è il background dei TOMT, da ricordare provenienti da Roma: davvero niente male. Un debutto ufficiale senza precedenti: hardcore in stile Converge, Boysetfire, Since By Man, Poison The Well e compagnia bella, quindi fortemente influenzato da sonorità caotiche-hardcore (urla strazianti ma allo stesso tempo compatte, riffs sofferenti, decisi, metallici e solidi) alternate da un groove energetico che a sua volta si dirige verso atmosfere indie-punk. Un mix d\'alta scuola perfettamente bilanciato fra le diverse parti; un hardcore innovativo, originale e convincente. La scena italiana è sempre più protagonista, accrescendo le proprie potenzialità e quelle delle nostre bands, le quali a loro volta stanno diventando sempre più competitive in ambito europeo. Complimenti e massimo supporto per THE ORANGE MAN THEORY. Eccellenti.

Tantissimi complimenti a questa nuova band, che si presenta con il suo primo lavoro dal titolo "Riding A Cannibal Horse From Here To...". Si chiamano "Orange Man Theory" e sono de Roma.
Dico complimenti perchè questo disco merita davvero tanto. Ad occuparsi della produzione è stato Steve Austin, cantante dei Today Is The Day, il quale ha partecipato anche con la sua voce in alcuni pezzi. Si parte con la prima traccia che fa da apertura al disco e poi si attacca con il secondo pezzo "Merendina Will Have His Revenge On Capeside": hardcore di quello cattivo con la voce urlata, batteria tirata e chitarra dal suono graffiante ed energico. I pezzi proseguono su questa scia, in cui non mancano molte influenze musicali: stoner, rock\'n\'roll e un che anche di metal; tutto questo gli orange man theory sono riusciti a fonderlo in maniera eccezionale. Fra le varie tracce quelle che più mi hanno colpito sono state "Where We\'re Going We Don\'t Need Roads" che si apre con un giro rock\'n\'roll accompagnato dalla voce stavolta più melodica, che si avvicina molto allo stile stoner; molto bella anche "vampires In The Sun (surfin Transylvania)", in cui ben si fondono momenti tirati e urlati, momenti strumentali dove si introducono riff di chitarra molto più "rockeggianti" e momenti molto più pacati, molto stoner in cui la voce diventa più melodica. Originale anche la piccola parentesi della traccia "The Way To Rock", trenta secondi suonati dal chitarrista, sullo stile blues-rock. Inoltre se inserite il cd nel vostro computer potete vedervi video e foto degli Orange Man Theory alle prese con la registrazione dell\'album.
Ascoltatelo assolutamente.

I don’t think Steve Austin (Today Is The Day) was used to produce and record albums from bands from Italy or even from Europe. The Orange Man Theory from Rome joined forces with him and recorded “Riding a cannibal horse from here to…” at his Austin Enterprise studio in Clinton, MA. The final result is a full speed turning vortex of postcore, stoner rock, metal, rock and some samples. This is an album which stands between two separate worlds: there are a lot of guitar parts coming directly from the 70’s surf or garage rock stuff and at the same time modern grooving attacks are destroying it all around. It’s strange to say that but it’s the truth. Even Steve Austin does some insane choruses on some tracks. And damn, he added his touch to a really talented band which will hopefully reach some important goals in the future. These guys terribly rock, the 9 songs they recorded spit out venom as well as pure madness. The introduction begins on a jazz basis and then, from the second track till the end, all the sick power this band has got blows everything away. The third track called “Vampires in the sun” is really my favourite one, it starts with the classical grungy postcore and it finishes with a melodic but sludgy part and some clean vocals saying “get used to call us vampires, vampires in the sun”. The Orange Man Theory are not only talented but sound quite original as well, they’ve added a thrashy verve which characterized a lot of bands in the Italian underground scene as well as a touch especially noticed in some nu metal acts to a sound taken clearly from the 70’s and from the best American stoner, sludge and surf stuff. Other songs I really liked are “Vortex of cows into the sweet tornado”, “Where we’re going we don’t need roads” and “Merendina will have his revenge on Capeside”. Indelirium records now can really look for new horizons with this new, amazing record as well the band can.Vegetarians, the title of this album is just a title, The Orange Man Theory guarantee no horses have been hurt during the realization of this album. Not just that, vegetarian or not if you’re into crazy and contaminated postcore pick this up!

Primo vero album per gli Orange Man Theory : prodotto da Steve Austin dei Today is the Day e registrato nell\'agosto 2004 all\' Austin Enterprise Recording &Mastering a Clinton (MA), "Riding a cannibal horse from here to…" dopo un anno dalla sua uscita viene sponsorizzato soprattutto in Sud America lasciando tempo al gruppo per farsi strada alla ricerca di nuovi contatti. I 2 intro (sul totale di 9 tracce) lasciano presagire una miscela di influenze per un post hardcore potente , un grind esibito che traina l\'interesse senza risultare mai banale , ma soprattutto mantenendo la carica su una linea retta , anzi ascendente , in ogni singola canzone : fa loro onore il riuscire a evitare le mancanze degli attuali giovani gruppi italiani e la sperimentazione continua di una musica che sa osare. Gli screaming continui pur se lancinanti non infastidiscono perché come solleticati da sonorità a volte più vicine al death metal , altre volte, pur vagamente, a un indie-punk. Attribuisco del merito alla lontananza dalla capitale e la sua tendenza a omologare il gusto hc ,ma anche all\'inventiva dei ragazzi romani : si percepisce come riescano ancora a giocare con la musica ,elevandola ;in ogni caso il sound ne esce fluente e i ritmi accentuati potenziano il tutto ( per alcuni troppo costruito? De gustibus). Alle volte le canzoni risultano eccessivamente confusionarie per il surplus musicale che si viene a creare, in cui nessun componente ha la meglio su un altro . Di solito mi ritengo critica al punto giusto ma stavolta credo valga la pena di ascoltarli (attendendo il live), quantomeno per l\'impegno in ogni sfumatura, non di certo casuale.
